Terms of Service

By using Alt Chat on any platform you agree to these terms. They are the end-user licence agreement (EULA) for the Alt Chat apps. Not every feature is available on every platform; these terms apply to the features your version offers.
Who can use Alt Chat
You must be at least 18 years old. One account per person. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant Alt Chat a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, adapt, display and distribute your content in order to operate, provide, improve and promote the service, on every platform Alt Chat runs on. Don’t post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, or that isn’t yours to share — that includes photos of people who haven’t agreed to appear.
Featured content
Alt Chat may show content you have made public — your profile photos, public posts, room photos and your username — in Alt Chat’s own promotion of the service: on AltChat.com, in our App Store and Google Play listings, on our official social media accounts, in our videos, and in advertisements for Alt Chat. We never show your real name, your exact location, your private messages or anything from anonymous rooms, and we never feature anyone under 18. If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another place where the law requires it, we ask you separately before featuring you, and we stop when you say so. Anyone can opt out at any time by emailing support@altchat.com; we then stop using your content in new materials promptly, though copies already published may take longer to update.
Room photos
The creator of a Night Chat, and the founders of a Chatroom, can set a photo for that room. Room photos are visible to anyone who can see the room, including non-members, and are covered by the same licence and rules as any other content. Only upload photos you have the right to use, showing people who have agreed to appear.
Community rules — zero tolerance
Alt Chat has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, sexual or nude content, spam, impersonation, or content that endangers others. Content that breaks these rules is removed, and the accounts that post it are restricted or removed.
Reporting and blocking
Every post, reply, chat message, room and profile can be reported from inside the app. Our team reviews every report within 24 hours and removes content and accounts that break these rules. You can block any member at any time: once blocked, you no longer see their posts, replies or messages, and they can no longer contact you. You can also reach us at support@altchat.com.
Purchases
Coins, VIP and other paid features are processed by Apple or Google Play in the mobile apps and are subject to their terms. Purchases are generally non-refundable except where required by law.
Changes & termination
We may update these terms or the service, and may suspend or end accounts that violate them. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Delete Account, at the bottom of your profile tab).
